Serving with Calvary 85

“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”

-Philippians 2:3–4 (ESV)

Calvary Family,

This week, a team from our church is partnering with Calvary 85 in Ault to help host their very first Sports Camp/VBS—an exciting moment for the gospel going forward in a new place. As we reflect on their service, Paul's words in Philippians 2 serve as both a compass and a celebration.

At Calvary, we are a kingdom people committed to “Making Jesus Non-Ignorable.” That mission calls for more than just passion-it requires joyful humility. Gospel impact begins when people transformed by Him put aside comfort and joyfully embrace the role of a servant. That’s exactly what we see on display in Ault this week.

Our mission team isn’t in Ault to be impressive. They’re there to lift high the name of Jesus by putting the needs of others ahead of their own. Early mornings, long hours in the sun, pouring into the lives of kids, encouraging one another-this is Philippians 2 in action. These aren’t small things. In the economy of the Kingdom, they’re a lasting investment of good seed.

This kind of humility and other-focused service is exactly what Jesus modeled for us—and it's how we live as salt and light. When we choose to value others above ourselves, the world gets a glimpse of the Servant King who gave His life for many.

Would you take a moment today to pray for our team in Ault as we serve with Calvary 85? Pray for the new church planters on the ground, Jaime and Gracie Rodriguez. Ask the Father to strengthen them in their work and to give them joy as they serve and are poured out even more for His Glory. Pray for the kids and families attending the Sports Camp—that hearts would be softened, and that the good news of Jesus would take deep root.

And may their example spur us on—here in our neighborhoods and wherever the Lord sends us—to do the same. Let’s keep walking together in humility, counting others more significant than ourselves, and making Jesus non-ignorable wherever He leads.

Blessings,

Bro. Kris
