Intertwined
I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. -Philippians 1:3-5
This passage beautifully encapsulates the essence of the church and the joy that arises from our shared faith. As followers of Christ, we understand that our identity in Christ is not an isolated journey but one that is deeply connected to the body of Christ, the church. Paul’s posture of thankfulness reflects the reality that the Lord uses His people to fulfill His divine purposes. Each follower of Jesus plays an essential role in the unfolding story of redemption, and it is through our partnership in the Gospel that we experience the fullness of God’s grace.
As we gather in worship, fellowship, and serving together, we are reminded that our lives are intertwined with one another in Christ. The joy Paul speaks of is not merely a fleeting emotion; it is rooted in the assurance of God's faithfulness and the promise that “He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6)”. So, today, let us be diligent in encouraging one another, holding fast to the truth of the Gospel, and pursuing and engaging in the good works prepared for us. Our shared mission is a testament to the love and grace that God has lavished upon us.
As we reflect on this truth, may we cultivate hearts of gratitude for one another and embrace the privilege of walking together in faith. Let us lift each other in prayer, support each other in trials, and celebrate the victories, knowing that our partnership is a reflection of God’s love at work in the world. Together, we can shine brightly for Christ, bringing hope and transformation to our communities.
I love you guys and consider it an honor to serve as your pastor.
