Faith That Looks Beyond
“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” – Hebrews 11:1
Faith is not blind optimism; it is confident trust in the God who keeps His promises. Hebrews 11 reminds us that the saints of old, Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, and Sarah, did not walk by sight, but by faith. They anchored their lives in the unseen faithfulness of the Lord.
Faith still anchors in that same Word today. We trust the Lord’s promises before we see His fulfillment. Our obedience is not based on outcomes but on His unchanging character. When life feels uncertain, when prayers seem unanswered, and when the way forward is hidden, faith steadies us in the sure hands of our Father.
Faith also acts. Like Noah building the ark or Abraham stepping into the unknown, faith moves when God speaks. True faith doesn’t wait until everything makes sense; it obeys because the Lord has already proven Himself faithful in Christ.
And faith waits. It looks beyond the temporary to the eternal. Every trial reminds us that we are pilgrims journeying toward the city with foundations, whose builder and maker is our Lord Jesus.
This week, let’s fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. The same Father who called and sustained those before us will hold us fast until we see Him face to face. Where is the Lord inviting you to trust Him today—before you see what He is doing?
Blessings,
Pastor Kris
